On the 29th of June 2018 the Osho Chemical Industries Ltd. undertook a pilot networking and adoption exercise to train and build the capacity of Croplife Kenya Certified Spray Service Providers (SSPs) in Nakuru County. The key focus of the forum was to ensure the Osho Ltd adopts and links with the Spray Service Providers in Nakuru county with an aim of promoting their products as brand ambassadors and to diversify the skill sets and business portfolios of the existing SSP businesses.
The forum was well attended by at total of eight (8) Osho Chemical Industries Ltd. officials, forty (40) Certified Croplife Kenya SSPs and the Croplife Kenya SSP Field Coordinator. In addition to offering Professional Spray Services on farmers’ crops, the Nakuru County SSPs also offer scouting of pests and diseases, farmer advisory on IPM and GAP practices, Fumigation of public facilities, vaccination and spraying of livestock, Fertilizer and foliar application to crops in the area and Repair and Distribution of Knapsacks services.
As a key output, the business linkage training forum aimed at enhanced business linkages between Croplife Kenya SSPs and Osho Chemical Industries Ltd. in Nakuru County in all its product line portfolios in a bid to gain trained and certified brand ambassadors at the community level who are able to serve its farmers in responsible use of the Crop Protection Products.
