The Executive Committee (EC) of the Agrochemicals Association of Kenya conducted a midterm review of its 2010 – 2020 strategic plan. From this exercise, the EC developed the 2016 – 2020 strategic plan. This plan builds on the lessons drawn from the review of the first five years of the AAK master-plan (2010 – 2019).
With the new Strategic Plan, the Agrochemicals Association of Kenya (AAK) seeks to better position itself in the Agriculture sector and inputs industry. The purpose of the strategy is to provide a common understanding of, and vision for the industry in Kenya as regards sustainable and safe management of agrochemical products. The Strategic Plan is motivated by the recognition by AAK of the need for strategic (re)positioning in light of the dynamic operational context.
The Strategy also seeks to ensure that industry contributes effectively towards attainment of Kenya’s development agendas as contained in Vision 2030 and various Medium Term Development Plans. The development of this Strategic Plan thus presents a major milestone for AAK and will guide its programs and operations over the five-year period between 2016 and 2020. It also contains frameworks, strategies and interventions for realizing AAK’s mission. These include amongst others strategies for ensuring greater effectiveness and sustainability of our work, as well as strengthening institutional capacity of AAK and other relevant actors.
For this reason, AAK invites members to the high-level launch of the Strategic Plan to be held at the Hotel Intercontinental on 6th April 2017 from 6p.m. The chief guest in the launch will be the Director of Corporate & SME Banking – Equity Bank, Mr. Rohit Kumar. He will be joined by Esther Muiruri General Manager Marketing-Agri Business. In attendance will be high level representation from the Government Ministries of Agriculture, Environment and Health.
We request that you confirm to AAK office your attendance to the launch on or before 31st March 2017 through firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are unable to attend but wish to nominate an alternate, we would be pleased to consider your recommendation.
