The months of July – September 2018 have been very interesting for Agrochemicals Association of Kenya (AAK) and the Agrochem Industry as a whole. The Tax Amendment Act 2018 that introduced the 16% VAT on Agricultural Pest Control Products has had a major impact on the industry. The association will still continue to urge and petition the government to revert to the old tax regime where VAT on agricultural pest control products was zero-rated.
On stewardship activities, we seek continuous involvement and participation by our members and various stakeholders on issues dealing with Responsible Use & IPM trainings, Container Management, anti- counterfeit activities and now on obsolete pesticides.
We hope to continue with our Corporate Social Responsibility – Tree planting drive in Mau Forest in the Month of November 2018 and we hope that our members will support us towards the achievement of this commitment.
We would like to appreciate our members and stakeholders for their support during this quarter. We are optimistic that our members and stakeholders will continue to fully support the Association as we strive to create a conducive business environment.
