- International code of conduct - members follow the code of conduct on the distribution and sale of pesticides, as a matter of industry self- regulation. AAK highlights the best practices of member companies in responsible use and the implementation of sustainable development principles.
- Knowledge sharing and networking - events for members include luncheons, annual dinners, and breakfast meetings, where members come together to share information, ideas, and interact across the industry.
- International industry - AAK is a member of CropLife International allowing local members to be part of the international agrochemical industry.
- Industry scanning - AAK helps companies keep up-to-date on management issues and policy developments, producing information on economic affairs, government regulations and societal expectations and helping members form appropriate responses.
- A forum for shared positioning - the association acts as a forum where members discuss and agree on issues that affect the industry, to reach agreements that are regularly presented to the government for actions.
- Government liaison - AAK, through its executive committee, acts as an agency for liaison with government and other organisations.
- Regulatory interface - the association represents the interests of its members on the Pest Control Product Board.
- Serving interests - the association protects and furthers the common interests of its members in the manufacturer, formulation, import and distribution of pesticides.
- Driving regulation - AAK presents industry concerns to the government in the development of legislation and regulations.
- Training - A core function of AAK is training and education to support responsible use of pesticides, in order to ensure safe food, a safe environment, export standards, and the meeting of market standards by horticultural crop growers.

How to join AAK?
1. Determine the membership category that applies to your organisation

2. Submit a membership application
Fill-in the Agrochemicals Association of Kenya (AAK) Membership forms by collecting them from the AAK office or downloading them from the link below.
3. AAK review of application
The AAK secretariat reviews the documents presented by the applicant to ensure they are in order and properly submitted.
4. Circulation of application to members
Once the documents have been reviewed the applicant’s details are forwarded to all members for approval and input to determine if the applicant will be approved.
5. Applicant interview
If no objection is received from the members, the applicant is invited for an interview at the AAK offices.
6. Recommendation to executive committee
If the interview is successful, the application for membership is forwarded to the AAK executive committee for final approval.
7. Outcome confirmed
The applicant is informed if the application to join AAK was successful or not.
